How to Make a Sprite Sheet

01

Drop your frames

Choose PNG, JPG, WebP or HEIC files, or a whole GIF. Files are read locally — nothing is uploaded.

02

Arrange the sheet

Choose a grid or auto-pack, adjust spacing and preview the animation before exporting.

03

Export for your engine

Download a transparent PNG, or choose an atlas bundle for Unity, Godot or Phaser.

Features

Runs in your browser

Packing happens on your device. Private by default, with no account required.

Grid and auto-pack

Two layouts, both with adjustable padding and spacing. No rotated animation frames.

Engine-ready exports

JSON for Phaser and import helpers for Unity and Godot.

Live animation preview

Check the loop before you export. Adjust the frame rate from 1 to 30 FPS.

GIF in, frames out

Drop a GIF and each frame lands in the strip, ready to reorder or export.

Made for phones too

HEIC photo support, touch sorting and ZIP downloads.

Build a sheet that works in your game

Choose a layout that matches your animation

A grid keeps every cell the same size, which makes it easy to step through a walk or idle loop by row and column. Auto-pack uses the space more efficiently when the source sprites have different dimensions. Preview both layouts before exporting; auto-pack metadata is important because the frame positions are no longer regular.

Keep edges clean in the game engine

Use a transparent PNG when your character needs to sit over different backgrounds. Add spacing between frames to reduce neighboring pixels bleeding into a sprite when the engine filters the texture. Padding adds room around the entire atlas, while spacing separates the frames inside it.

FAQ

Is this sprite sheet maker free?

Yes. Packing, slicing and GIF conversion run on your device, without an account or a watermark.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The free tools decode, preview and export your files inside your browser. Closing this page clears the current workspace.

How do I import the sheet into Unity?

Choose Unity with PNG + JSON. The ZIP includes an Editor importer. Put it in Assets/Editor, select your PNG and use Tools → Import Sprite Atlas.

Grid or auto-pack — which should I use?

Grid is best for equally sized animation frames. Auto-pack arranges differently sized sprites into compact rows without rotating them.

What is the maximum sheet size?

Exports are limited to 4096 × 4096 pixels and 200 frames. Each uploaded file can be up to 25 MB.

Is there a command-line version?

No. For command-line pipelines, polygon packing or multiple atlases, a dedicated packer such as TexturePacker is a better fit.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

The interface supports touch controls and HEIC conversion. Long-press a frame to reorder it, or use its left and right buttons. Browser memory limits still apply.

Can I make an FNF sprite sheet here?

Yes. Open the FNF Generator to group animations and export Sparrow XML and a Psych Engine character JSON together.

Can AI draw the frames for me?

Visitors can explore a sample workflow. Signed-in, verified users can generate real sprites using available credits; each live action shows its cost before generation.

Which file formats can I upload?

PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and HEIC/HEIF. Animated GIFs become individual frames. JPG has no transparency.
