Tips for Sprite Sheet Animator

Check the grid before judging motion

Slice the sheet with its real column and row count. A wrong grid can make a good animation appear to jump because poses are cropped or read in the wrong order. Inspect the frame strip and move frames into sequence before changing the playback speed.

Compare slow and fast playback

Use the 1–30 FPS slider to test how the same poses feel as an idle, walk, or run. Low rates reveal missing in-between poses; high rates can hide them but may make a loop look rushed. Pause on a frame to inspect alignment and watch where the loop returns to its first pose.

Save a shareable preview

When the sequence and speed look right, export a looping GIF for review. GIF is useful for showing motion outside the editor, while the original PNG sheet remains the better source for games that need full alpha transparency or atlas metadata.
