Tips for Sprite Sheet to GIF
Start with a regular grid
Enter the actual columns and rows in the source sheet before slicing. The grid assumes equal-size cells; if an atlas has irregular rectangles, its JSON coordinates are needed instead. Check the extracted frame strip for a blank final cell or a pose that was cut in half before generating the animation.
Choose a frame rate by watching the loop
A slow idle often reads well at a lower FPS, while a run cycle usually needs a faster rate. Move the 1–30 FPS control while previewing rather than choosing a number from a formula. The exported GIF uses the selected rate for all frames, so it will not retain custom per-frame timing from another source.
Know the GIF transparency limit
A sprite sheet PNG can contain partially transparent edge pixels. GIF can only mark a pixel fully transparent or opaque, so soft antialiased edges may change when converted. Keep the original PNG for gameplay and use the GIF for sharing or a quick motion preview.

FAQ
Why are my frames cropped?
Check that your column and row counts match the original grid. Irregular atlases require their frame coordinates instead.
Will transparent edges look identical?
GIF has only on-or-off transparency, so partially transparent PNG edges may look different.
Can I change animation speed?
Yes. Set the preview between 1 and 30 frames per second before downloading.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The free tools decode, preview and export your files inside your browser. Closing this page clears the current workspace.
