Tips for Sprite Sheet Splitter & Cutter
Use grid slicing for uniform cells
Choose a grid when every frame occupies the same rectangle, even if the sheet has an opaque background. Enter the exact columns and rows: a wrong count changes the crop boundaries and can cut sprites in half. Grid slicing also keeps intentional blank space around each pose.
Use auto-detection for separated sprites
Automatic detection finds connected groups of nontransparent pixels. It works when each sprite is isolated by a transparent gap. Touching sprites can merge into one region; detached parts or stray opaque pixels can become extra regions. If that happens, clean the source image or switch to a known grid. Detection is limited to sheets up to 2048 × 2048 pixels.
Inspect before downloading
After either slicing method, check the frame strip for missing or extra regions. Reorder the results if reading order differs from the intended animation, then download the selected PNG frames together. The source sheet stays in your browser throughout this free workflow.

When should I use a grid?
Use a grid when frames have equal dimensions or the background is not transparent. Match the original column and row count.
When does automatic detection work?
It works best when each sprite is separated by transparent pixels. Stray pixels can produce extra detected regions.
What can I download?
The splitter exports the selected individual frames as PNG files in frames.zip.
